I spent a month-long residency in Malo, Italy, painting in a large studio at Casa Bianca, which was the most extraordinary museum of Arte Povera, a modern art movement of the mid 20th century. Malo was only a short train ride to the cities of Venice, Vicenza, Padua and Verona, which I visited on day-trips. To the North of Malo were small towns which once housed the first factories producing textiles on industrial-size Jacquard looms.
Below is a series of paintings reflecting the light soaked colours of Italian buildings.
